Weekend Workshops

The Making Strides Foundation is pleased to announce a new educational offering for kids called "Weekend Workshops!" These inclusive classes will allow children of all abilities to learn, interact and have fun on the farm. Each monthly workshop will offer a different topic for varying age groups. Space is limited. Pony Spa Day

Saturday, November 9

Briarfield Stables | Jeannette, PA

10:30 AM - Noon (Ages 5-7)
12:30 PM - 2:00 PM (Ages 8-12)

$35 per child

A fun and interactive workshop where participants get to pamper the ponies and learn about essential horse grooming practices. Children will have the chance to learn about:

Grooming Essentials: Learn the step-by-step process of brushing, cleaning, and maintaining a pony's coat using safe, adaptive tools designed for all abilities.
Braiding Fun: Explore different braiding techniques for manes and tails, fostering creativity and fine motor skills while giving ponies a stylish new look.
Hoof Care: Gain an understanding of the importance of hoof health, learning to clean and inspect hooves with assistance, while appreciating how proper care keeps the ponies happy and healthy.

Participants will work closely with experienced instructors and volunteers, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for everyone. This hands-on spa day not only deepens the bond between children and the ponies but also instills confidence and responsibility in caring for animals.
