Ever wondered how we care for our horses during the chilly months? While our herd doesn’t mind cooler weather, we take extra measures to ensure their comfort and health when temperatures drop. At Making Strides, equine care is always our top priority! Here’s how we keep our horses happy and healthy in the cold:

  • Heated water buckets for 24/7 access to fresh water

  • Extra hay to keep those bellies warm

  • Late-night check-ins to monitor everyone’s health

  • Cozy blankets for the coldest nights

  • Daytime turnout (weather permitting), with warm nights indoors

  • Soaked alfalfa pellets during single-digit drops for extra nutrition

We love our herd and would do anything to keep them thriving year-round!
